Why It Matters

  • Most health systems have EMR data but lack the infrastructure to make it accessible and actionable

  • A pre-built CDW eliminates months of custom development and ongoing maintenance overhead

  • Self-service analytics reduces dependence on IT and accelerates decision cycles across all departments

  • CMS benchmarking built in means performance visibility is available on day one

What Is inProcess CDW?

inProcess CDW is IPC Global’s clinical data warehouse solution, a managed service that automatically generates data marts and discovery analytics directly over your EMR. The inProcess Data Factory lays down a complete data pipeline from healthcare data sources to curated data models, then publishes analytics that service area and line-of-business teams can customize with their own rules and logic.

The result is a unified, HIPAA-compliant platform that gives clinical, quality, operations, strategy, supply chain, and leadership teams real-time answers from a single source of truth, without custom development or IT bottlenecks. It is self-service access to all clinical data, built on pre-built pipelines and EMR integrations, delivering over 100 inSight dashboards and Discovery applications out of the box. Each health system receives a dedicated AWS Virtual Private Cloud, a secure, encrypted, and scalable environment hosted and fully managed by IPC Global.

Real Questions. Ready Answers.

inProcess CDW is designed to serve every major stakeholder function across the health system. Clinical Services teams can answer questions like what their acuity volumes and length of stay look like across the continuum of care. Operations leaders can plan resource utilization as cases move through the system. Strategy teams can identify where their community is most vulnerable based on social determinants of health. Supply Chain teams can track how forecasted demand evolves day by day to manage proactively.

These are not hypothetical use cases. They are the questions that clinical and operational leaders ask every day, and inProcess CDW is built to answer them without requiring a data request, a custom report, or a wait. Every team gets the answers they need in the format they work in, from a single governed source of truth.

Built on AWS: Secure, Scalable, and Ready

Each health system receives a dedicated AWS Virtual Private Cloud, a secure, scalable, and reliable environment for the inProcess platform. Encrypted data is initiated via CLI and stored in Amazon S3, then processed and presented on EC2 to user browsers on any device. The platform requires no on-premise hardware, no server management, and no infrastructure overhead from your IT team.

inProcess Data Factory is engineered for the most widely deployed EMR platforms, including EPIC, Cerner, and Allscripts. The underlying network database model uses a flexible graph schema where object types serve as nodes and relationship types as arcs, not restricted to a hierarchy or lattice. This enables rich, cross-registry data discovery that traditional relational models cannot support.

From ED Through Discharge: CMI and LOS Insights

inProcess CDW gives care management teams the insight to manage patient journeys from ED admission through discharge. Key capabilities include:

• Volume and capacity monitoring across all locations and units

• LOS forecasting across the continuum of care with scenario modeling for protocol planning

• CMS benchmark comparisons to surface outliers and drive performance improvement

• Cross-registry patient discovery to map encounters across locations, providers, and payors

• Diagnosis, labs, orders, and flow-sheet details presented plainly for clinical and operational users

• CMS LOS/CMI and H-CUP CCSR data included for benchmarking and patient grouping

Extensible by Design

inProcess CDW is not a closed system. Beyond the core EMR pipeline, it is designed to incorporate additional data sources that enrich clinical and operational insight. CMS, H-CUP, CCSR, and local data sources can all be added to extend the platform’s analytical reach without requiring a rebuild of the underlying infrastructure.

As a managed service operated and supported by IPC Global, the platform evolves alongside your organization. New analytics applications can be added as use cases expand, and the underlying data models can be extended to support population health, value-based care contracts, and strategic planning initiatives that go beyond day-to-day operations.

Who This Is Built For

inProcess CDW is designed for health system leaders who need real-time, governed analytics across clinical, operational, financial, and strategic functions, including CMOs, CNOs, CFOs, VP Operations, Quality Directors, and Supply Chain leadership. It is equally valuable for IT leaders who are responsible for data infrastructure but need a solution that does not require ongoing custom development or heavy internal maintenance to sustain.

If You Only Do Three Things

  • Deploy a single source of truth across all departments and locations, not siloed data by team

  • Enable self-service analytics for clinical, operational, and financial users without IT dependency

  • Leverage pre-built EMR integrations to go live in days, not months
